Out of the mouths of babes, the vote is in and the winner is…Hillary Clinton.  Those are the results from the traditional presidential election-year Scholastic Student Vote.  In this race the children of America chose Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump by a 17-point margin, 52 percent to 35 percent.

The other 13 percent split among Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson in third with two percent, followed by Senator Bernie Sanders and Green Party nominee Jill Stein.

Some 153,000 students from kindergarten to 12th grade took part in the mock election, which has had an significantly accurate track record. In the 70 years that the Scholastic Student Vote has been held, it's been wrong in predicting the outcome of the real presidential election only twice -- in 1948, when kids chose Thomas Dewey over Harry Truman, and 1960, when they voted for Richard Nixon over John F. Kennedy.

My take is that the kids went with the crook in 1960 and the other guy won.  Looks like the kids went with the crook again in 2016 – here’s hoping the other guys wins in this one too.  Kids, no dessert and go to your rooms!
