Kids playing with an aerosol can and a lighter are to blame for a fire on Saturday in Yakima that destroyed one home and damaged a home next door. Firefighters were called to the blaze at about 4:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon on North 2nd Street and East G street. The fire started in one home and quickly spread to a nearby home. Firefighters say one of the homes was turned into an apartment and housed several families that were evacuated. The fire took 2 hours to bring under control. One child was burned and taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released. Four families were displaced by the fire and are now being helped by the Red Cross.
