Yakima fire investigators say kids who started a house fire on North 2nd Street Saturday while playing with a lighter and aerosol can will soon be involved in the department Youth Firesetters Program. Capt. Jeff Pfaff says the kids involved could have been seriously injured or killed and without intervention statistics show there's an 80% chance the kids will start another fire within the next year. "They will be going through the program to help them learn the dangers of playing with fire. We're actually revamping the program right now."  According to the Yakima Fire department the most common fire setter is a child between the age of seven and nine. And nine to one Pfaff says boys are more likely to play with fire-setting than girls. He says most kids don't understand what can happen if they start a big fire thus the reason for the Yakima Youth Firesetters Program.
