Yakima County Sheriff's deputies say kids holding a party at a home in the 10500 block of Tieton Drive overnight Saturday caused about $8,000 in damage.

Deputies say they were called to the home at about 2:15 a.m. Sunday morning and when they arrived many kids fled the home. But many also remained inside locking doors refusing to leave. A search warrant was authorized and deputies forced their way into the home.

Deputies say about 30 underage subjects were cited for alcohol offenses. One juvenile was also found armed with an illegal handgun. They say the inside of the home was severely damaged during the party.

The property owner’s daughter, who apparently planned the party, fled the house when deputies arrived.
