A juvenile arrested in a gang-related shooting late last year, who's being tried as an adult, faces charges in Yakima County Superior Court.

16-year-old Daniel Perez is being held in the county jail on a charge of first-degree murder. He was transferred from Juvenile Court last week and made an appearance in court on Monday.

Police say he fatally shot 26-year-old rival gang member Octavio Rangel of Yakima in October of last year near the transit center in downtown Yakima.
