KNDO reports that the judge ruled a 16-year-old boy accused of shooting a man to death outside the Yakima Transit Center last October to be tried as an adult.

Court testimony states that Daniel Perez shot 26-year-old Octavio Rangel five times, twice in the back of the head, reports KNDO, and prosecutors say Perez and Rangel were both gang members.

The judge's decision to have Perez tried as an adult, as stated by KNDO, is because the crime was so violent with Judge Richard Bartheld saying that the court fears Perez will be released to the community and rejoin his gang.

KNDO says Perez has been moved to Yakima County Jail with bail set at $500,000.
