Fred Meyer in Yakima makes great sandwiches, killer fried chicken and they even have a sushi bar.  I’m no expert on raw fish-I prefer mine thoroughly cooked but regular consumption of sushi (not fried chicken) could help you live longer!

A new study reveals that a Japanese diet of fish, rice, seaweed, and sake could actually add years to your life.

You can find the detail in the British Medical Journal, but basically the findings show Japan's dietary guidelines results in a 15 percent lower total mortality rate.  That’s reason enough to toast a cup of sake right there but this kind of diet, free from sugars and processed foods, also lowers the risk of cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Nearly 80-thousand people were surveyed and the best mix for health was a diet low in fat and high in fish and soybean products supplemented with fruit and vegetables .

Which leads me to ask: Where is the best sushi in Yakima?
