It’s back to school day for most kids in the Yakima Valley.

In the Yakima School District, spokeswoman Mary Beth Wright says thousands of kids are excited to attend the new Eisenhower High school for the first day of school tomorrow.

Yakima police say school zones are now open in the mornings and afternoons so drivers need to be aware. Police are hoping you'll slow down when around schools this week.

Davis High School will open tomorrow with a brand new math and science wing. It's one of the first steps in a major remodel of the school.

The district plans to open the new Davis cafeteria by mid-October.

The entire remodeling project at Davis is expected to be finished by 2015.
