July is National Hot Dog Month, and the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council is ready to stuff us with information about America's favorite weenie.

Hot Dogs have always been a favorite of mine. Throw 'em in a pan with some water, heat them up, slap them in a bun with a stripe of yellow mustard and I'm happy. My favorite "gourmet" hot dog is a Chicago style, with its' poppy seed bun, mustard, relish, tomato slices, pickles and sport peppers with a dash of celery salt.

When I was a kid, my family would have what we called "weenie roasts". We'd go out on our farm property, pick a spot along the creek bank, build a fire and roast hot dogs on sticks. It was great summertime fun!

Did you know that there's certain etiquette when it comes to hot dogs? Get it right here from the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council's "Queen of Wien" Janet Riley.

Where's your favorite place in Yakima to get a hot dog? My two go-to places are Sonic and Costco. The Chicago Dog at Sonic is fantastic, and who can beat the $1.50 dog and soda combo at Costco?
