It’s Over At The Umatilla Chemical Depot

Members of the Oregon Army National Guard Military Funeral Honors Team presents the colors at the End of Operations Ceremony for the Umatilla Chemical Depot at the Hermiston Chamber of Commerce in Hermiston, Ore., March 15. The facility received its first shipment of VX-filled rockets in 1962, and processed the last batch of mustard agent on Oct. 25, 2011. The ceremony marked the official end of chemical processing at the facility, and the start of the transfer of ownership to the Oregon National Guard and community partners.
