A Yakima Valley tradition kicked off Wednesday night in Union Gap and Toppenish. Schell's Massive Corn Maze in Union Gap and the Nightmare Corn Maze in Toppenish are open for the Halloween season. This year's theme is a bit out of this world...alien crop circles. The creators also brought the corn maze into the 21st century. It was designed and cut using gps satellite technology which could add a little time to your escape. Google maps and Google latitude also give you the ability to use your smart phone to track yourself going through the maze or just pinpoint where you are and which direction to turn.

The pumpkin chucker is also back. It's basically a sling shot for small pumpkins. There are also hayrides and other activities for the kids.

The haunted maze runs every Wednesday through Saturday.
