Is Your Graduate’s Resume Ready?
If your child will be graduating from college in the days ahead, congratulations. Up next, welcome them to the world of work. Their resume will now join the pile with hundreds of others. Go luck with that.
So how do you stand out? Let’s start with how you SHOULDN’T stand out according to some resume advice from Bloomberg.com.
When it comes to typing the resume, here are fonts consideration you need to know.
- Helvetica. This is professional, lighthearted, honest and safe.
- Proxima Nova. A popular but pricey choice among professionals, $29.99 for one style while the entire family costs $734
3. Times New Roman. This is a classic, but has a reputation for being boring.
4. Old Faithful. Unless you're angling for a fashionable job at Ralph Lauren, stay
away --it's tall, fancy and a little feminine.
5. Zapfino. This is a much better option for wedding invites --it's super scripted and
tough to read.
6. Comic Sans. This should not be a choice unless you're applying to clown college! (Source: Bloomberg.com)
