Tax Season. Yay.  On Monday the IRS announced it was open for the business of collecting your money. Yay.

Experts say you should file right away to insure it is really you who gets your refund IF you have one coming.  The I-R-S says it has been working to block identity thieves armed with your basic personal information or even a stolen copy of your W-2 form accessing its systems, but the easiest way to prevent a scammer from collecting your refund is to collect it yourself as soon as you can.

Procrastinators have until Tuesday, April 18th to file. Yay.  BUT the feds really do recommend moving things along. Their message is sound – with about 70 percent of Americans typically getting a tax refund, they urge you not to lose yours to scammers. (Consumerist))
