Residents who use the Lenox or Ninth Avenue systems of Yakima's irrigation system will notice reduced pressure early this week.

The New Schanno Canal Co., the private provider of those systems, plans to shut down the delivery system to repair a leak.

The shutdown will affect about 1,400 homes. It is possible that some of the homes in the affected area will be without irrigation water altogether.

New Schanno will shut down the system Monday evening. Once repairs are made, water will gradually flow again sometime late Tuesday, though full pressure will not return until sometime Wednesday evening.

According to a news release, the Lenox System serves the area from Voelker Avenue to 12th Avenue between Nob Hill Boulevard and Mead Avenue. The Ninth Avenue system serves an area from Seventh Avenue to 10th Avenue between Baker Street and Nob Hill.
