• A 15-year-old boy sits in the Yakima County juvenile jail today on a murder charge.

    Yakima Police arrested the 15-year-old boy Friday in connection with a fatal shooting last Thursday night. Police say the boy was found and arrested by members of the Violent Crimes Task Force and Yakima Police Gang Unit at a residence in East Yakima on the 1800 block of Wilson Lane.

    The boy is accused of shooting and killing 22-year-old Anthony Yocom Thursday night around 5:30pm on the 700 block of West Mead Avenue.

    The boy has been booked into the Yakima County Juvenile Detention Center. Police are still looking other evidence and the shooting is still under investigation.

  • A 20-year-old man is dead after a shooting in Union Gap Saturday night that police are investigating as a homicide.

    Union Gap Police say the man was found dead late Saturday night in the 2100 block of south 7th Avenue but that's the only detail found on a news department release. The man hasn't been identified and there's been no arrest.

    An autopsy is set for later today as the investigation continues.
