Authorities are working to get answers after a child was shot and killed outside a west Union Gap home early Sunday morning.

10-year-old Nathaniel Reedy-McCoy was fatally injured by a gunshot wound to the chest at a home in the 1800 block of West Ahtanum Road. He died shortly after he was transported to a Yakima hospital.

Union Gap police say that there were three other people, including the victim's sister, at the home at the time of the shooting. No other injuries were reported.

Police also said that they had no information on suspects or possible motives, but repeat that they do not believe the shooting was gang related.
