The City of Yakima will soon have a new city manager. Interviews with four finalists start Thursday, and City Mayor, Micah Cawley says finding a new city manager is one of the most important jobs of the city council.

One of the four candidates in line for the position of Yakima's city manager has dropped out. Marianna Marysheva-Martinez from California withdrew her application. The council has filled the open finalist spot with Tony O'Rourke who is the city manager of South Lake Tahoe. The remaining three finalists include Paul Schmidt, former city administrator in Oak Harbor,  Thomas Steele, previous city manager in West Jordan, Utah, and Steve Worthington, past city manager in Fife.
