As was the case a week ago, the installation of fiber optic lines in the west part of Yakima will interrupt the traffic signal at 56 Avenue and Summitview Avenue from mid-morning until mid-afternoon today.

The traffic signal at the busy intersection will be placed in the flashing mode while the fiber optic line installation project is underway. Flaggers will direct drivers though the intersection.

LS Networks is continuing to install underground lines in the area as part of a project linking satellite towers and other telecommunications facilities located throughout Yakima. Work on the project is expected to begin at about 9:00 am on Thursday, August 30th and be completed by 3:00 pm. if possible, drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes on Thursday in order to keep traffic in the project area to a minimum.
