Inslee Visits Yakima to Promote Child Health

Gov. Jay Inslee made a quick stop in Yakima Monday afternoon to visit the Yakima YMCA.

Inslee met with staffers and youths for a discussion about his Healthiest Next Generation Initiative, how YMCAs are helping improve health among young Washingtonians and about health-related challenges/opportunities in Yakima.

The governor also spent a short time playing basketball with the kids at the Y.

Inslee's initiative is aimed at getting kids healthy, keeping them away from drugs and alcohol, and making sure they stay active.
