A four-month-old girl from Yakima remains in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after being ejected from a van driven by her father on Friday who fled the scene of the crash.

KNDO News is reporting that the father was driving his family in a Ford Windstar van when they were hit by a Chevrolet Tahoe at the intersection of 6th Ave and Hathaway Street.

The Tahoe sent the van into a metal pole and the baby went through a window and onto the sidewalk. Her father took off on foot. The four-month-old girl was air-lifted to Harborview with a serious head injury. No one else was injured in the crash.

The father was eventually caught and arrested. He will face charges of vehicular assault and hit and run Monday in Yakima County Superior Court.
