MURPHY, Ore. (AP) — You could say these deer got the munchies. The deer got passed barbed-wire and went through an Oregon hemp crop like high-powered mowers. Hemp is the industrial cousin of marijuana, but without the substance that gives pot its high. Cliff Thomason says his company planted about 1,000 plants and only about 40 are left. It was the first hemp crop in Oregon. Thomason tells the Grants Pass Daily Courier he thought deer didn't like hemp. But he adds they liked theirs.
