Improvements Made to Downtown Street Banners

The banners along part of Yakima Avenue may look a little different. They have been turned so they now face the sidewalks instead of the street. Yakima officials said the poles from Seventh Avenue to First Street were getting hit by trucks that parked too close. The city tried shortening them, but they still broke. Yakima said rotating the poles will be more cost effective.
