Icy Conditions Causes Numerous Accidents Throughout the Weekend

Yakima drivers were met with a snow and ice storm Saturday afternoon and evening that made roads slick and caused numerous accidents. The large the number accidents caused the Yakima Police to use their inclement weather policy. The policy is put in action when they have both a large number of accidents, along with other calls like burglaries and assaults. During that time, if you get into a non injury crash, it's your responsibility to exchange information and handle it with your insurance company. Yakima Police Department will take a report, but not at the scene. Due to the icy road conditions parts of 40th Avenue were actually closed Saturday night.
