How Does a Minor League Team Hit a Game-Winning Home Run and Still Lose? [VIDEO]
Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
A minor league baseball game in Augusta, Ga., epitomized that this past Sunday when Elier Levya of the Delmarva Shorebirds smacked what looked to be the go-ahead home run.
One tiny problem. He failed to touch home plate after circling the bases.
The home-team Augusta Greenjackets appealed the play and Levya was called out, striking his run from the scoreboard, keeping the game tied. The hometown nine ultimately rallied for a run in the bottom of the 10th inning to steal the win.
