Hot Temps Will Not Deter City’s Road Work
Even with temperatures looking like they will be in triple digits all week, the city's grind-and-overlay project will continue this week, with lane closures during the day and road closures overnight.According to a city news release, there is no indication that the high temps will slow work, but in the past each release has indicated that work is weather-dependent.

The following roads will be closed overnight from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m. on the indicated dates:
- 40th Avenue between Fruitvale Boulevard and Summitview Avenue -- July 14-16
- West Lincoln between First Avenue and 16th Avenue --July 16-17
- 44th Avenue between Nob Hill Boulevard and Tieton Drive -- July 14-17
- 16th Avenue between River Road and State Route 12 -- July 16
- West MLK Jr. Boulevard between Second Avenue and Third Avenue -- July 14
- Tieton Drive between 16th Avenue and Voltaire (33rd Avenue) -- July 14-16
- Tieton Drive between 40th Avenue and 48th Avenue – July 14, 15 and 17
- 19th Avenue between Tieton Drive and Chestnut Avenue -- July 15
- D Street between First Avenue and Fifth Avenue --July 15
- Walnut Drive between First Street and Seventh Avenue -- July 14
Lane closure are planned between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. all week on the following roads:
- Lincoln Avenue between 24th Avenue and 32nd Avenue
- Tieton Drive between 40th Avenue and 48th Avenue
- West MLK, Jr. Boulevard between First Avenue and Pierce Avenue
- Third Avenue between Walnut Street and D Street
- Fourth Avenue between Tieton Drive and Walnut Street
- Fourth Avenue between Yakima Avenue and D Street
