A red flag warning continues in the Yakima Valley and the state today until 9:00 p.m. The National Weather Service issues a red flag warning when critical fire weather conditions exist. Officials say a combination of strong winds  low relative humidity and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Firefighters say be careful doing anything outside that could spark a fire. Even parking to close to dry weeds can create a situation in which a wildfire can start when a hot exhaust touches the weeds.
