Hit And Run Driver Found Prosecutors Weighing Charges

Yakima Police have located the driver they say struck a 14-year-old boy while in a crosswalk in downtown Yakima last month. Police spokesman Mike Bastinelli says it happened January 23 in front of the Olive Garden restaurant on Yakima Avenue. The boy escaped with minor injuries but the driver took off. "We were able to view a video from a nearby business and we were able to identify the vehicle involved."
That information combined with witness descriptions of the driver helped police find  the vehicle on Tuesday in downtown Yakima. The driver was also located. She's only been identified as a 37-year-old woman. Prosecutors are now reviewing the case and considering charges against the driver.
