Members of the Cowiche-Tieton community and Highland School District gathered Sunday afternoon for an informational rally about a bond to help improve their schools. The Highland School District has been working to secure a bond for improvements at their schools, but they've fallen short on votes several times.
They're now proposing a new bond, cutting the bond amount from $8.5 million to $6 million.
The bond would be used to upgrade the schools standardized testing system, build a new roof for Highland High School and improve the electrical system at Marcus Whitman Elementary.

The bond would be paid off over an eight-year period. The tax rate impact would add about $5 more per household a month compared to 2014 tax rates.

The vote for the proposed bond is April 28.
