High School Basketball Tournaments Scores an Assist in Local Economy
The Yakima Valley Sundome will be the home to the state 1A and 2B Boys and Girls State Basketball Tournament this week. Bob Romero, a member of the tournament committee tells KIT News the games start Thursday and continue through the weekend. The games start at 9:00 a.m. each day. Romero says the tournament earns more than a million dollar impact on the local economy by filling hotels and motels and keeping local restaurants busy.
