The calendar doesn’t lie. We are in the downward slide to back to school and a readjustment of kids bedtimes after what is for many families, a free range summer schedule.

Now some new science says preschoolers  should recalibrate bedtime too but not for future academics.   Sending preschoolers off to bed early might help reduce kids' risk for obesity in the teen years.

A team at Ohio State University compared preschoolers who went to bed at both 8 and 9 p.m., then tracked their progress as they grew. WebMD.com says the one hour later bedtimes seemed to double the likelihood that the young kids would eventually become obese as teens. The earlier bedtime also could benefit preschoolers' social and emotional development.

They may fight you now but they’ll thank you la…who am I kidding, they are your kids, chances are they won’t thank you BUT you will know in your heart, where you hold their best interests, that you have done the best thing for them!
