Head On Crash Closes I-82 Drivers Injured

A head on crash that closed all lanes of I-82 near Wapato Tuesday night is now under investigation. I-82 was re-opened earlier Today. Washington State Patrol Troopers say a car driven by 27-year-old Justin Newhouse of Mabton was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of I-82, 2 miles West of Buena when he struck an eastbound vehicle driven by 22-year-old Gabino Heredia of Yakima. Both drivers were taken to a Yakima hospital with injuries. The crash remains under investigation Today.
Troopers closed the interstate 4 miles east of Wapato for several hours after the crash but the road is now open.
