Hats Off to the Grads of YVCC — Dave’s Diary

Congratulations to the graduates of the class of 2014!  Now get to work (reality check) and help with the tax burden!  Yakima Valley Community College will host its 85^th Commencement Ceremony next Thursday June 12^th  at 7:00pm on Parker Field on the YVCC Yakima Campus.The graduating class of 2014 is a mixed bag of higher learners featuring students ranging in age 18 to 67 with thirty-four  Veterans and 67 Running Start double dippers earning their high school diploma and an associate degree at the same time.. The college will award a total of 1,005 degrees and certificates to 902 students including transfer degrees, professional/technical degrees, and certificates.

This year’s keynote address will be presented by Lieutenant Governor Brad Owen. The student commencement speech will be delivered by YVCC graduate Ms. Yesenia Navarrete Hunter.
