Hard Work Shows Well At Yakima Muscle Classic – Dave’s Diary

Shawna Gamache  has the look of a champion ..and she is.  She won the Central WA Natural Muscle & Bikini Classic Novice Bikini division and was the Overall Bikini Winner.  That wasn’t easy because there a lot of fit and fabulous female athletes competing.  Congratulations to her and all the competitors.Someone told me it has been 35 years since there was a body building show in Yakima.  I couldn’t confirm that but I have been here about that long and can’t remember one.  Either way they are not a common occurrence  and so it was great to have one town in Yakima Saturday night.   It was the first annual 2015 ABFF Central WA Natural Muscle & Bikini Classic and it showcased the extreme hard work and discipline of competitors from all over the valley and a few from the west side too.  

These athletes, both women and men, take the canvas they were born with, form a new vision of what they might become and then set about to paint that new picture with a brush dipped in sweat, diet, hydration, cardio and weightlifting to bring that new picture of themselves to life!

 It was amazing to see local folks get on stage wearing next to nothing and proudly and confidently show the judges, family and friends what their focus, determination and work -hard, their hungry, sweaty hard work had created.

I hope they bring it back. (I hope they work out the technical bugs of the show) and I hope you’ll go next time if you missed it. 

You know, it’s one thing to get a compliment for something like a nice suit or having pretty eyes -

for which you are just the benefit of lucky genetics or a department store sale.  It is quite another to be told you look amazing because by your own hand you do!

 Congrats to all competitors.  Special congratulations to the champions.  You did it.  Who knows what this will inspire you to do next!
