Just about every men’s cologne, body spray and aftershave commercial features at least one if not hundreds of beautiful women attracted to the man that smells so good.

So, is that all Madison Avenue hype or are there roots in reality?

Men’s Health has the answer – Splash it on fellas, a new poll reveals smelling good always goes over well when trying to woo someone!

Scentbird-- a fragrance subscription service-- polled 6,000 men and women and found 97 percent of women think cologne is sexy. After breaking it down into specific scent families, women said outdoorsy colognes were sexiest, but they also like fresh and musky scents.

The ladies said cologne smelled sexiest when applied to a man's chest, back, behind the ears, or on the wrists. Top brands women preferred for colognes: Giorgio Armani Acqua di Gio, Chanel Bleu, Davidoff Cool Water, Gucci Guilty, and Dior Sauvage. (Men’s Health)
