Greenway Pathway Celebration Saturday

It's taken years to complete but the Yakima Greenway pathway will soon be a full 20 miles. Carol Yates with the Greenway says they'll hold a celebration on Saturday at the spot where the Naches path joins the Yakima path at 40th and Fruitvale "that's where it will connect right by the freeway and it'll hook up near Suntides. 20 plus miles."

ebration starts at 11:00 a.m. Saturday. The growth of the pathway has happened over a number of years and since 2007 Greenway officials have been collecting donations and state grants to build the pathway from Union Gap to Naches. A $2 million dollar grant from the State Department of Transportation allowed for the recent completion.
