The Washington State Patrol announced in a news release last night that state fire assistance has been mobilized to fight the Trinidad Fire in Grant County.

The fire is approximately 1,500 acres in size and is threatening nearly a dozen homes in addition to Conservation Reserve Program land.

No evacuations are currently planned, but officials are monitoring the movement of the fire. No cause has been identified as of yet.

The release states, "The State Emergency Operations Center (EOC) at Camp Murray has been activated to Phase II, to coordinate state assistance for the Trinidad Fire. Personnel from the Office of the State Fire Marshal will be on scene to coordinate dispatch of resources, and other personnel will staff the State EOC."
