March 24-31 is National Farm Workers Awareness Week, and Washington wants to give a big shout to all the farm workers here and around the country. So Saturday, Gov. Jay Inslee will be in Yakima to sign HB 1939, which declares March 31 as Cesar Chavez Day in Washington state.

The bill was signed into law on March 6, 2018. Some are even carpooling all the way from Seattle to attend the event.

signing ceremony and reception is planned from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at UFCW Labor Hall, 507 S. Third St.
