OLYMPIA – Gov. Chris Gregoire and First Mike are inviting young children and their parents to stop by the Executive Mansion on Halloween from 6 to 8 p.m. to trick-or-treat.

The governor will dress as Alice in Wonderland, while First Mike will dress as the White Rabbit, and promises not to be late. Throughout the evening, other Wonderland characters will join them as they pass out chocolate bars. As like previous years, five special chocolate bars will contain a “Golden Ticket.” Each ticket will allow that child and five guests to attend a special holiday reception on the evening of Dec. 7th at the mansion. The golden ticket must be presented for entry.

Gregoire and First Mike have dressed up and invited trick-or-treaters to the mansion each Halloween since 2005. Past costume highlights included characters from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Charlotte’s Web, Happy Feet, Dora the Explorer, Toy Story, The Addams Family and Sesame Street.

No taxpayer dollars are used to pay for the candy and decorations.
