Girl Scouts Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho will host a Centennial Community Leadership Luncheon in Yakima Wednesday, June 27, 2012. The lunch is an opportunity to bring community leaders, business owners, volunteers, alumni, supporters and Girl Scouts together to celebrate and recognize the amazing things Girl Scouts are doing in the Yakima Valley.  The Yakima Valley has more than 1,000 active Girl Scouts and more than 150 volunteers and alumni who are working with girls every day to help them discover their skills, connect with others and take action to create positive change in their community.

The third annual fundraising lunch will be held at noon, in the ballroom at the Red Lion Hotel-Yakima Center, 607 E. Yakima Avenue, Yakima, Wash.   The keynote speaker will be Dr. Ashley Tercero, owner of Yakima Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Tercero opened the first privately owned pediatric dental practice in Yakima in 2008.  She will speak about how her pursuit to become a pediatric dentistry specialist took a great deal of courage, confidence and character.

This is an RSVP luncheon event. There is no cost to attend but the suggested donation is $100 per person as part of the Centennial “Honor a Girl” campaign to raise $100 for each of the 8,000 girls in the council region. Interested guests may contact Kristin Monasmith, events specialist at events@gsewni.org or call (800) 827-9478, ext. 204 by June 22 to reserve a seat or table of eight.
