Gina McCabe to be Sworn in Early on New Year’s Day in Goldendale
The new representative from Washington's 14th Legislative District will be sworn in advance of the upcoming legislative session on Jan. 1.
McCabe will take the oath of office at 1:00 p.m. on the steps of the Klickitat County courthouse, weather permitting. The ceremony will be moved inside in case of inclement conditions.
McCabe is taking her oath early due to the resignation of current representative Charles Ross, who was elected as Yakima County Auditor. McCabe (R) defeated Democrat Paul George in the Nov. general election.
The Washington State Legislature will convene on Jan. 12 for the 2015 session.
