Yakima CrossFit is proud to be hosting a CrossFit (fitness) competition that will support and raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project and our local Marine Corps Ball Fund. WODAPALOOZA will be an all-day event held on Saturday September 24, 2011. Bravo Company 4th Tank Battalion, United State Marine Corps Reserve will provide the Reserve Training Center (RTC) at 1702 Tahoma Ave in Yakima, WA as the venue. This event will consist of three high intensity, varied “WODs” (Workout of the Day) to test the fitness of the participants. The athletes will be competing against each other to find the fittest athlete in Yakima! The competition is open to any and all athletes in the Yakima area. There will be men’s and women’s heats and scaling will be available! The cost to compete will be $50/athlete which will cover your participant t-shirt and support the WWP and the Marine Corps Ball!

The Wounded Warrior Project is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. Through their efforts they increase the awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of injured service members, help injured service members with aid and assist each other and provide unique, direct programs and services to meet the needs of injured service members.

The Marine Corps Ball Fund is an organization ran by local retired Marines and supporters who raise funds for various programs to support Bravo Company 4th Tanks in Yakima. Through their efforts, they raise local awareness of the unit, generate funds for the annual Marine Corps Birthday Ball Celebration and have been actively involved in supporting deployed Marines from the local area who were or are still in the fight supporting Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

Local vendors will be on site all day, and food and drinks will be available to athletes and spectators for a small fee. This is a family friendly event so bring the whole family to cheer on your favorite athlete! There will be a limit of 50 participants for this competition.
