Average retail gasoline prices in Yakima have risen 1.4 cents per gallon in the past week averaging $3.25.

This compares with the national average that has fallen .7 cents per gallon to $3.24 according to gasoline price website YakimaGasPrices.com.

Prices yesterday are 13.2 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 4.4 cents per gallon lower than a month ago. The national average has increased 3.9 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 10.4 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

Gregg Laskoski, senior petroleum analyst of GasBuddy says, "Under severe conditions, consumer demand usually declines and that often results in a nominal decrease in retail gas prices."
