Did you enjoy your first official driving trip of the year over the Memorial weekend? If you drove somewhere you enjoyed gas under $2 a gallon. But as the summer season begins we see another rise in prices. The folks at "Gasbuddy.com" tell us we'll low prices all summer. They say average retail gasoline prices in Yakima have risen 2.4 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.53/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 91 gas outlets in Yakima. This compares with the national average that has increased 3.0 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.32/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com. "Including the change in gas prices in Yakima during the past week, prices yesterday were 39.8 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 21.7 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. The national average has increased 11.1 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 42.7 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

 

According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices on May 31 in Yakima have ranged widely over the last five years:

$2.93/g in 2015, $3.83/g in 2014, $3.89/g in 2013, $4.21/g in 2012 and $3.95/g in 2011.
