After months of falling gas prices and a summer of under $3 a gallon we see an increase today just before the long Labor Day Weekend. Our friends at GasBuddy.com say average retail gasoline prices in Yakima have risen 3.7 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $2.55/g yesterday, according to GasBuddy's daily survey of 91 gas outlets in Yakima. This compares with the national average that has increased 3.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.21/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

 

Including the change in gas prices in Yakima during the past week, prices yesterday were 34.5 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are  unchanged versus a month ago. The national average has increased 7.4 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 28.0 cents per gallon lower than this day one year ago.

 

According to GasBuddy historical data, gasoline prices on August 29 in Yakima have ranged widely over the last five years:

$2.90/g in 2015, $3.83/g in 2014, $3.69/g in 2013, $3.92/g in 2012 and $3.78/g in 2011.

Tacoma- $2.60/g, up 2.2 cents per gallon from last week's $2.58/g.

Seattle- $2.64/g, up 0.6 cents per gallon from last week's $2.63/g.
