Low ratings in the polls is no guarantee of elections to be lost….but the President needs to focus more on the economy if he’s to climb above 50% .

A new Gallup poll shows that President Barack Obama’s approval rating declined to 46 percent for the week ending June 12. The poll results, released today, mark a significant decrease from his average weekly approval ratings during May. Approval from independents dropped the most, down five points from 47 percent to 42 percent, the survey shows.

The Obama popularity indicators are sliding amid concerns about the slow pace of economic recovery.

Gallup  add that there is still time to recover before the election in 17 months noting Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, and Bill Clinton, all had approval ratings below 50 percent and managed to be re-elected.
