Fun Fundraiser Puts Locals Behind Bars for MDA

The 2013 MDA Lock-Up for the Yakima Valley is scheduled to take place June 5, 2013 at Gasperetti’s Restaurant in Yakima.  The annual fundraiser will take place from 10am until 12pm.  Local civic leaders and business executives have volunteered to be “locked up for good” and will be raising bail money, all of which will go to aid the many families in the Yakima region battling neuromuscular diseases.“This is our main fundraiser for the Yakima area and has been very successful and a lot of fun in the past” said Jana Worthington, Executive Director of the MDA / Inland Northwest.  Local off-duty Firefighters will transport volunteers to and from the event, which includes a complimentary “mug shot” of the “jailbirds”.

MDA has employed the Lock-Up in individual markets for over 15 years and has raised much money needed for research for a cure for the 30 plus, separate muscle diseases that comprise Muscular Dystrophy.
