The Yakima office of Neighborhood Development Services is offering free home repairs to disabled residents and low to moderate income seniors in the city.

Office manager Archie Matthews says they will repair or replaces furnaces, hot water heaters or air conditioning units among many other repairs.

"We'll help with no-heat, no-power [or] no-water type emergencies. Say your water heater goes down, we can come in an replace your water heater"

Federal grant money is being used for the repairs so there is no cost to the qualified homeowners.

There are also many other home repairs available. For those who are interested, there is a need to apply with the Yakima office of Neighborhood Development Services at 112 S. 8th St.
