Free Fun Family Fun Hike This Saturday

Get the family together for a short hike and dinner on Saturday. The 4-H family event will be held this weekend from 5-7:30 p.m. at Snow Mountain Ranch. Families will spend an evening enjoying a casual hike (approximately two miles) through Snow Mountain Ranch’s trails, exploring nature, searching for scavenger hunt items and enjoying trail dinner options that are perfect for light hikes. A healthy, trail-worthy dinner will be available free of charge to all participants during the event. The family hike and dinner is a free, casual event open to any family group with youths or to groups of friends. Participants should register ahead of time by emailing their name and group size to a16barden@gmail.com <mailto:a16barden@gmail.com> or by calling WSU Extension at 574-1600. Remember to dress for the weather, wear sturdy tennis or hiking shoes, bring a full water bottle, sunglasses and/or a hat, and a backpack to carry your meal and water. Families will meet at the Snow Mountain Ranch parking lot at 5 pm, prep and pack the dinner options and then hit the trail.
To get to Snow Mountain Ranch from Yakima travel west on Summitview Avenue, turn left onto Cowiche Mill Rd, and after 2.5 miles turn left at the Snow Mountain Ranch sign, which is across from Cowiche Creek Nursery.
