Former Yakima Mayor Running for State House

Former Yakima Mayor Paul George filed today for the 14th District House seat being vacated by Charles Ross.

George, a longtime Democratic activist is the fourth person to enter the race, and the first Democrat. George joins Republicans Adam Yoest, Gina McCabe and Ben Shoval in the race.

Ross is not running for re-election, but is running for Yakima County auditor. In fact, Ross filed for the auditor’s position today. Yakima Mayor Micah Cawley and Earl Hall have already filed for auditor.
Candidates for local public offices have until Friday afternoon to file for the Aug. 5 primary. The general election is Nov. 4.
