PASCO, Wash. (AP) — The attorney for a former Pasco police officer who's been named as a suspect in the 1986 death of a Spokane woman says his client has denied killing the woman.
Attorney Scott Johnson also says it is no surprise that former officer Richard J. Aguirre's DNA was found on the woman's body.
Johnson says there is a possibility the two had come in contact with each other.
Johnson declined to say how his client and homicide victim Ruby J. Doss might have met. Doss worked as a prostitute in Spokane at the time of her death.
Spokane police Thursday announced that Aguirre was a suspect in the death of Doss after a computer recently matched his DNA to evidence found on Doss.
